SAINT JOHNSBURY — A single-vehicle crash on Memorial Drive resulted in minor injuries Thursday morning.
The incident occurred at approximately 10:55 a.m. on Feb. 6, about 600 feet north of Industrial Parkway.
Vermont State Police responded to the scene after receiving reports of the crash.
According to the investigation, the operator of a 2017 Jeep Compass, identified as 51-year-old Roscoe Gaudette of Lyndon, was traveling south on Memorial Drive at approximately 35 mph.
Gaudette stated that his windshield fogged up while he attempted to activate the defroster, causing a temporary loss of visibility.
In an effort to pull over, Gaudette oversteered and struck a snowbank on the right side of the roadway.
The vehicle sustained impact damage to the front grille and bumper.
The Jeep briefly became airborne after hitting the snowbank before landing on all four tires.
Road conditions at the time were described as icy and slushy, contributing to the crash.
Gaudette and his passenger, Jessica Gaudette, also of Lyndon, were both wearing seat belts and sustained minor injuries.
They were transported to NVRH for evaluation.
Wright’s Towing removed the vehicle from the scene.
Troopers were assisted by Wright’s Towing and Calex Ambulance Service.
