AUBURN — A 39-year-old man wanted by Auburn police was arrested in New York after a months-long investigation.

Anthony Kline of Auburn was sought by detectives beginning in November and December 2024 for allegedly violating terms of release from a previous conviction.

A warrant was issued for his arrest.

During the investigation, detectives determined Kline had left Massachusetts and was believed to be living in New York.

Auburn police tracked him to the Schenectady area and collaborated with local authorities to locate him.

On Monday, Feb. 3, Schenectady police located and arrested Kline on a fully extraditable warrant.

On Friday, Feb. 7, Kline was arraigned in a New York court on a fugitive from justice charge.

He waived extradition and will return to Massachusetts to face additional charges for failing to register as a sex offender.
