Driver arrested for DUI after single-vehicle crash on US Route 7 in Rutland

RUTLAND — A 21-year-old Rutland man was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence following a single-vehicle crash on US Route 7 late Sunday night.

The incident occurred at approximately 11:17 p.m. on Feb. 9.

Vermont State Police responded to a report of a crash in Rutland Town.

Investigators determined that Jacob Burton was traveling northbound when his vehicle left the roadway.

During the investigation, Burton displayed signs of impairment.

He was screened and subsequently arrested for suspicion of DUI.

Burton was transported to the Rutland Barracks for processing.

He was released with a citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court Rutland Criminal Division on Feb. 24 at 10 a.m.
