Claremont police seize drugs, arrest four in narcotics investigation

CLAREMONT — The Claremont Police Department announced the arrest of four individuals following a weeklong investigation into illegal drug activity at a Central Street apartment building.

On Friday, Feb. 7, officers executed a search warrant at 50 Central Street, seizing a large quantity of suspected crack cocaine, fentanyl, and U.S. currency.

The operation was launched in response to complaints about possible narcotics distribution at the location.

Brandon Stevens, 42, of Claremont, was charged with two counts of possession of controlled drugs, breach of bail, and conspiracy to commit drug sales involving crack cocaine.

William Dancy, 18, of Springfield, Massachusetts, faces charges of conspiracy to commit drug sales involving crack cocaine and fentanyl/heroin, as well as possession of controlled drugs.

Melissa Robinson, 43, of Claremont, was charged with sale of controlled drugs involving crack cocaine and fentanyl/heroin.

Sonia Bartley, 48, of Claremont, was charged with conspiracy to commit drug sales involving crack cocaine and fentanyl/heroin, control of premises under the Controlled Drug Act, and breach of bail.

All four individuals were held at the Sullivan County House of Corrections until their arraignment in the 5th Circuit Court, Claremont District, on Monday, Feb. 10.

The Claremont Police Department stated the operation will significantly disrupt the local narcotics trade.

Authorities expect further arrests as the investigation continues.
