Boston police warn of spiked drinks ahead of Super Bowl Sunday

1 min read

BOSTON — The Boston Police Department is urging the public to stay vigilant against drink spiking during Super Bowl celebrations this weekend.

Officials are warning about the dangers of scentless, colorless, and tasteless drugs, such as Rohypnol, GHB, and Ketamine, which can be secretly added to beverages.

These substances can cause disorientation, confusion, temporary paralysis, unconsciousness, and other serious symptoms, leaving individuals vulnerable to harm.

To help prevent incidents, the department is advising people to take precautions.

These include having drinks served directly by a bartender or server, keeping beverages in sight at all times, and using drink covers or testing tools to detect potential tampering.

The department also recommends seeking immediate help if someone feels unwell or notices unusual behavior in others.

Anyone who suspects they have been a victim of drink spiking or other criminal activity is urged to report the incident to authorities promptly.
