STAMFORD — A man wanted in connection with a 2024 homicide in Yonkers was arrested by Stamford police on Feb. 5.

Kelvin Mitchell, 19, a known Bloods gang member, was taken into custody without incident at an apartment on Atlantic Street, where he was hiding with his aunt.

Mitchell was wanted for murder, attempted murder, assault, and criminal possession of a weapon in relation to an Aug. 26, 2024, homicide in Yonkers.

Stamford’s Narcotics and Organized Crime (NOC) detectives, already familiar with Mitchell from a 2023 Yonkers homicide investigation, worked alongside Yonkers police to track him down.

A search warrant was obtained and approved by Stamford Superior Court.

The Special Response Team (SRT), NOC, K-9, Patrol, and Crime Scene Unit executed the warrant in the late afternoon at 717 Atlantic Street, Apt #704.

Mitchell was charged with being a fugitive from justice without a warrant and is being held on a $1,000,000 bond.

His court date is set for Feb. 19.
