WESTBROOK — A Portland man was arrested Sunday after he allegedly grabbed a 13-year-old by the shoulders, attempted to kiss them and offered them alcohol, according to the Westbrook Police Department.
Police said they received a call at approximately 1:35 p.m. from a citizen reporting that an unknown male had grabbed a family member while the victim was walking home.
The juvenile was able to break free and make it home, but the male followed them to the residence and continued to make advances, police said.
The caller confronted the man and remained with him until officers arrived a few moments later.
Antonio Henriques, 26, was arrested for assault and violating bail conditions stemming from an unrelated case, police said.
He was taken to Cumberland County Jail.
Police said Henriques and the victim did not know each other and had no prior interactions before the incident.
