WESTFORD — On Jan. 20, Vermont State Police were called to the scene of a two-vehicle collision on Westford Milton Road, west of VT Route 128, involving a 2017 Subaru Forester and a 2016 Chevy Colorado.

The incident, which occurred at approximately 5:35 p.m., involved Anthony Carrillo, 29, of Winooski, and Russell Stratton, 66, of South Hero.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash, and no injuries were reported.

Carrillo, driving the Subaru eastward, reportedly lost control of his vehicle due to mixed road conditions of snow, ice, and dry pavement.

The vehicle skidded into the opposite lane, striking Stratton’s westbound Chevy.

Both vehicles came to a stop on the northbound side of the road.

During the investigation, troopers observed signs of impairment in Carrillo, which were not related to alcohol consumption.

After being taken to the Williston Barracks for a Drug Recognition Expert evaluation, tests confirmed the presence of an impairing substance in Carrillo’s system.

Carrillo was cited for DUI – Drug and is scheduled to appear in Chittenden County Superior Court on April 15 at 8:30 a.m.
