RUTLAND — A traffic incident involving a police officer directing traffic and a plow truck occurred on Feb. 6, resulting in minor vehicle damage but no injuries.

At noon, amid snowy conditions, Vermont State Police Troopers were assisting with a tractor-trailer stuck on US RT 4 near Bellevue Lane.

Patrick McDonnell, 45, of Pittsford, was operating an eastbound 2015 Ford F550 with a plow attachment when his vehicle made contact with the right rear quarter panel of a 2020 Ford Explorer, driven by officer Charles Gardner, 33, from Rutland.

McDonnell, who was wearing his seat belt, did not sustain any injuries and his vehicle remained undamaged.

Gardner, who was outside of his vehicle at the time of the incident, was unharmed.

Both vehicles were able to leave the scene under their own power.

The snow-covered roads contributed to the incident, but no civil violations or hospitalizations were reported.

The minor collision did not result in any significant traffic disruptions.
