CLARENDON — Troopers from the Vermont State Police Rutland Barracks arrested a New York man on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs after finding him passed out in a vehicle on Creek Road.
On Feb. 5, at around 10 a.m., authorities received a call about a vehicle obstructing the roadway with two occupants unconscious and a third attempting to wake them.
Regional Ambulance Service medics reached the scene before law enforcement and were able to revive the occupants.
Upon arrival, troopers observed that the driver, 49-year-old Scott Royce of Poultney, New York, showed signs of impairment.
Royce was taken into custody and transported to the State Police Barracks in Rutland for processing.
Royce, who had an outstanding arrest warrant for retail theft, was lodged at Marble Valley Correctional Facility.
He was cited for DUI and is scheduled to appear at Rutland Superior Court Criminal Division on a later date.
