Woman faces cocaine possession charge after Rutland traffic stop

RUTLAND — A Proctor woman is facing a drug charge after a traffic stop in Rutland late Saturday night.

Lori Turner, 54, was a passenger in a vehicle stopped by Vermont State Police troopers on West Street at approximately 11:14 p.m. on Feb. 4 for a motor vehicle violation.

During the interaction with the vehicle’s occupants, troopers observed indicators of drug use.

The driver, identified as Matthew Sullivan, 62, and Turner granted consent to search the vehicle, leading to the discovery of suspected cocaine.

Turner was taken into custody and transported to the Rutland Barracks for processing.

She was issued a citation to appear in Rutland Criminal Court on a charge of possession of cocaine.

The Rutland City Police Department assisted state troopers in the investigation.
