NAUGATUCK — A Wisconsin man was extradited to Connecticut to face charges stemming from the theft and sale of a shotgun, authorities said Wednesday.
Hector Cuadrado, 29, of Menasha, Wisconsin, is accused of selling the stolen shotgun to settle a debt.
The Naugatuck Police Department began investigating the complaint in September 2021 after the owner reported the shotgun missing and sold without their knowledge.
According to the investigation, Cuadrado could not recall the identity of the buyer.
Following the issuance of an arrest warrant, Cuadrado was apprehended and held at the Outagamie County Jail in Wisconsin.
On Jan. 31, Naugatuck detectives took custody of Cuadrado and extradited him back to Connecticut.
He faces charges of stealing a firearm and the illegal sale of a firearm.
Cuadrado was held on a $100,000 bond and was arraigned at Waterbury Superior Court on the morning of Feb. 3.
