STAMFORD –– The Stamford Police Department’s Narcotics & Organized Crime Unit arrested two individuals following a traffic stop where officers discovered guns and drugs, including fentanyl and cocaine, officials said Wednesday.
The arrests occurred after detectives received a tip about individuals with drugs packaged for resale at the intersection of Main Street and Clinton Avenue.
Using a patrol K9, police stopped the suspects’ vehicle and detained Aaron “Teimo” Atwater, 25, and Darelle Porter, 19, without incident.
A subsequent search of the car revealed a .45 caliber ghost gun, a Glock 23 .40 caliber handgun with modifications making it fully automatic, 75 bags of fentanyl, 1.9 grams of powder cocaine, various prescription pills, and drug paraphernalia.
Atwater has claimed ownership of all narcotics found and faces multiple firearms and narcotics charges with bail set at $1 million.
Porter is charged with firearm-related offenses and his bond is set at $150,000.
This incident marks the recovery of six illegal firearms by Stamford police in the past week.
Both suspects are expected to appear in court in early February 2025.
