Scituate barracks arrests two on multiple charges

SCITUATE — Rhode Island State Police made two separate arrests involving a road walker and a suspected drunk driver, officials said Saturday.

At 3:57 p.m., troopers arrested Michel Makhlouf, 34, of Westborough, Massachusetts, on charges of obstruction of an officer in the execution of duty, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest.

The arrest occurred after police responded to reports of a person walking on Route 146.

Makhlouf was taken to the State Police – Scituate Barracks for processing and was held overnight pending arraignment at Third District Court.

Earlier, at 12:47 a.m., Joseph Aloisio, 62, of Cranston, Rhode Island, was arrested for driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor and/or drugs – first offense and refusal to submit to a chemical test.

The arrest followed a traffic stop on Route 6 in the Town of Johnston.

Aloisio was processed at the Scituate Barracks, arraigned by a justice of the peace, and released to a responsible adult.
