Norwalk police vehicle strikes, kills pedestrian

NORWALK — A local resident was fatally struck by an unmarked Norwalk Police Department vehicle on Connecticut Avenue at the intersection of Fairfield Avenue on February 3 at 6:07 p.m., authorities said.

The vehicle was responding to a call for service when the accident occurred.

Emergency responders rushed the pedestrian to Norwalk Hospital, where attempts to save their life were unsuccessful.

Details about the identity of the deceased have not been released.

The Connecticut State Police have taken over the investigation of the incident.
