BREWER –– Police arrested a man following a domestic assault investigation and standoff in Brewer on Feb. 3.
According to the Brewer Police Department, officers were called to a report of a domestic assault on Feb. 3, where a woman had been assaulted multiple times and held against her will at a residence on Riverview Terrace.
The victim managed to escape and received hospital treatment for serious injuries.
The investigation led police to suspect Richard Bock, 22, who was believed to be armed and inside the residence.
Bock, described as transient, has a history of violence and was already under two sets of bail conditions and had an active warrant for probation revocation.
A combined operation involving the Brewer Police Department, Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office, and Bangor Police Department tactical units surrounded the residence.
