HUBBARDTON — A two-vehicle collision on Vt Route 30 left one person with non-life-threatening injuries and caused significant damage to both involved cars on Feb. 1.
Vermont State Police reported that the crash occurred at around 9:40 a.m. near Delancey Rd.
Molly Stanton, 34, of Hubbardton, was driving her 2012 Honda Civic northbound when she swerved to avoid a head-on collision with an oncoming vehicle.
Losing control, Stanton’s car veered into the southbound lane and collided with a 2020 Chevy pickup driven by Eric Russell, 36, of Shoreham.
Stanton, who was wearing her seatbelt, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Rutland Regional Medical Center by Fair Haven First Response.
Russell, also wearing his seatbelt, did not report any injuries at the scene.
Both vehicles sustained significant damage, with Stanton’s Civic being heavily damaged and Russell’s pickup suffering significant front-end damage.
Clear weather conditions were reported at the time of the crash, but the road was snow-covered, which may have contributed to the incident.
State Police were assisted at the scene by the Hubbardton and Castleton Fire Departments.
The crash is still under investigation by the Vermont State Police.
