Pawtucket and Johnston residents among four arrested by state police

PROVIDENCE — Multiple arrests were made over the weekend by Rhode Island State Troopers, including individuals charged with domestic violence-related offenses and failure to appear in court.

On Feb. 1 at 2:38 p.m., Troopers apprehended Kevin Spence, 45, of Pawtucket, for three counts of Domestic Violence – Violation of a No Contact Order – Third or Subsequent Offense.

The arrest followed a vehicle stop on Silver Spring Street in Providence.

Spence was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks, presented as a probation violator, and then transported to the Adult Correctional Institutions Men’s Intake Center.

Later that evening, at 9:27 p.m., Luis Medina, 60, also from Pawtucket, was arrested for two counts of Domestic Violence – Violation of a No Contact Order – Third or Subsequent Offense.

The arrest occurred after a stop on Lorraine Street in Medina’s hometown.

Following processing at the Lincoln Woods Barracks, Medina was arraigned as a bail violator and taken to the Men’s Intake Center.

On Feb. 2, just after midnight, Dimitri Charles, 29, of Taunton, Massachusetts, was taken into custody for a bench warrant related to a Failure to Appear on a charge of Obstructing an Officer in Execution of Duty from the Pawtucket Police Department.

Charles’s arrest was the result of a stop on Route 195 in East Providence.

He was processed at the same barracks and transported to the intake center.

Additionally, at 2:17 a.m., Anthony Elderkin, 34, of Johnston, was arrested on an Affidavit and Arrest Warrant for charges of Domestic Violence – Simple Assault and Domestic Violence – Disorderly Conduct from the Central Falls Police Department.

The arrest followed a motor vehicle stop on Admiral Street in Providence.

Elderkin was processed and turned over to the Central Falls Police Department.
