Waterbury police recover stolen Mercedes, arrest three

WATERBURY — Police from the Waterbury Police Department’s Auto Theft Task Force recovered a stolen 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLE 350 on Jan. 30, resulting in the arrest of three individuals connected to the theft.

The vehicle was located at 205 Union Street, where officers apprehended the suspects following an investigation.

The charges against the arrested parties vary, with each facing consequences for their involvement in the larceny of the motor vehicle.

Jose Torrez, 29, from Meriden, was charged with first-offense larceny of a motor vehicle and operation of a motor vehicle without a license.

Gabriela Rivera, 21, a Waterbury resident, was also charged with first-offense larceny of a motor vehicle.

Lamontaye Perry, 21, also of Waterbury, faces a second-offense larceny of a motor vehicle charge.

Perry, who was on parole at the time of the arrest, has been remanded into the custody of the Connecticut Department of Correction.
