CORINTH — A 68-year-old Corinth man was killed in a vehicle crash on Goose Green Road Tuesday afternoon, according to state police.
At about 4:30 p.m., troopers responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash with a fatality near the Corinth Town Garage.
The 2019 Ford Ranger, driven by Wade Vangorden Sr., was traveling eastbound when it left the roadway and struck a tree, causing the vehicle to come to an uncontrolled rest.
Vangorden, who was wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene.
While the crash remains under investigation, authorities have indicated that neither speed nor impairment appear to be contributing factors at this stage.
The St. Johnsbury Barracks is leading the ongoing investigation, and witnesses or individuals with information related to the crash are encouraged to contact them at (802) 748-3111.
Vermont Fish & Game Wardens, the Corinth Fire Department, and Upper Valley Rescue provided assistance at the scene.
Further updates on the investigation are expected to be released as more details become available.
