CORINTH — A home invasion turned police pursuit ended in multiple arrests Monday after an elderly woman reported a robbery at her residence on McCard Road.

At around 3:57 p.m., the victim called 911 to report that 56-year-old Gary Roshto of Charleston had forced entry into her home, pushed her to the ground, and stolen her jewelry before fleeing in a dark-colored car.

Though uninjured, she provided the vehicle’s license plate number to authorities as Maine State Police units converged on the scene.

A Fire Marshal investigator sighted the suspect’s vehicle traveling north on Rt. 15 in Corinth and attempted to stop it.

The driver, however, did not comply, initiating a chase through the towns of Charleston and Atkinson.

The pursuit came to a dramatic close at the intersection of Range Road and E.

Dover Road in Dover Foxcroft where the car crashed.

Roshto and another male, identified as 35-year-old Kevin Bowley of Lagrange, fled on foot into the woods while a female occupant, 52-year-old Cynthia Williams of Milo, remained in the vehicle with injuries.

Local law enforcement from Dover Foxcroft Police Department and Piscataquis County Sheriff’s Office joined the search, resulting in the apprehension of both men a short time later.

Roshto was booked into Penobscot County Jail facing charges of robbery and eluding police.

Bowley received a summons for robbery before being taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Williams was also hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries and will be summonsed at a later date.

The stolen jewelry was recovered from the vehicle, and Maine State Police extended their gratitude to all the agencies involved in the successful capture of the suspects.
