WORCESTER — Worcester Police successfully recovered a stolen vehicle and made an arrest after a sequence of events on Jan. 24.
Authorities were alerted around 12:50 p.m. about an obstructing Acura on Boylston St. The car bore a license plate that had been reported stolen from Boston.
When officers arrived initially, the vehicle was no longer at the reported location.
About an hour later, at approximately 1:50 p.m., a member of the Neighborhood Response Team sighted the Acura at a gas station on Lincoln St. Officers quickly converged on the scene and detained the driver, identified as 42-year-old Matthew McCourt.
Upon verification, McCourt was found to have no legitimate connection to the Acura.
He was subsequently arrested and charged with receiving a stolen motor vehicle, using a motor vehicle without authority, and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.
