BARTLETT — New Hampshire Fish and Game reported a collision between two snowmobiles on Bear Notch Road on Sunday, Jan. 26, shortly after 1 p.m.
According to authorities, Wilson Alonzo, 39, of Peabody, Massachusetts, was operating a rented snowmobile and veered to the left side of the trail.
At the same time, Marie Kelly, 53, of New Ipswich, New Hampshire, was traveling in the opposite direction on her privately owned snowmobile.
The two snowmobiles locked skis as they passed each other, resulting in extensive damage to both machines.
Despite the potential for serious injury, both Alonzo and Kelly were fortunate to escape without any severe harm.
Following the incident, all parties involved were able to self-evacuate from the trail with the help of rental company personnel.
New Hampshire Fish and Game have not released any further details regarding potential causes or contributing factors to the accident.
