NORTH HAVEN — A man has been arrested in connection with a purse snatching last July that left a 76-year-old woman injured, authorities said.
Rainford McKenzie, 22, of New Haven, was taken into custody and charged with third-degree robbery, second-degree larceny, and conspiracy, according to the North Haven Police Department.
The victim had been walking from her vehicle to a restaurant on Universal Drive when McKenzie allegedly approached her, grabbed her purse, and knocked her to the ground before fleeing in a vehicle that was waiting nearby.
The woman suffered injuries during the robbery.
McKenzie’s alleged accomplices, two juveniles, were arrested late last year for their involvement in the incident.
McKenzie was held on a $75,000 bond and is scheduled to be arraigned in Meriden Superior Court.
