FALL RIVER — After an intensive investigation, the Fall River Police Department announced the arrest of four suspects in connection with a violent attack that occurred on Rocliffe Street on Jan. 14.
Patrol Bureau officers responded to the scene following reports of a man found bleeding on the ground.
Officer Anyeric Castillo, who was the first to investigate, discovered the victim had been severely assaulted and left with zip ties around his wrists.
Detective Frank Reis of the Major Case Division took over the case, with Officer Castillo continuing to provide assistance.
Their collaborative efforts led to the identification of several perpetrators involved in the brutal beating and robbery of the victim.
Warrants were issued for Angela Garcia, Maria Reyna Rodezno Marin, Ailton Lopes, and Johnathan Winston.
Garcia, Reyna Rodezno Marin, and Lopes were taken into custody by the Major Case Division on Friday, Jan. 24.
The following day, the Neighborhood Engagement and Enforcement Team (NEET), with aid from the Rockland, MA, Police Department, apprehended Winston in Rockland, MA.
The suspects are scheduled for arraignment this morning at Fall River District Court.
They face multiple charges, including firearm-armed kidnapping, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy, firearm-armed and masked robbery, tampering with evidence, armed assault to murder, and home invasion.
The Fall River Police Department has commended the diligent work of the Major Case Division, Detective Reis, and Officer Castillo for their swift action in bringing the case to a close.
