PLYMOUTH — A one-car accident on Main Street led to the temporary closure of the roadway and a snapped utility pole last night around 5 p.m.

Plymouth Police officers, upon arrival at the 300 block of Main Street, discovered a vehicle with significant damage obstructing the road.

The car had collided with a utility pole, causing it to break and necessitating the shutdown of Main Street, also known as Route 6.

The driver, who was alone in the vehicle, received on-site medical evaluation by the Plymouth Volunteer Ambulance Corps before being transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

Efforts to repair the damage extended over several hours, during which Main Street remained closed.

Crews from various agencies, including the Plymouth Volunteer Ambulance Corps, Terryville Volunteer Fire Department, Plymouth Public Works, Eversource Utilities, Connecticut Department of Transportation, and Frontier Communications, coordinated to ensure the road was made safe for reopening.
