MARBLEHEAD — Marblehead police officers, along with resources from the Northeastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council (NEMLEC), responded to a mental health crisis call at 6:30 p.m., ensuring the safety of an individual in distress.
After an initial attempt to contact the individual proved unsuccessful, authorities, exercising caution, called in NEMLEC to assist.
Officials assured that at no point was there a threat to public safety, as the area was promptly secured and cleared by responders.
The cooperative efforts of Marblehead police and NEMLEC led to a successful resolution, as the individual was eventually reached and received medical treatment.
They were subsequently transported to a hospital for further care.
