THETFORD — On the morning of Jan. 24, a 20-year-old from Ryegate walked away unscathed from a single-vehicle crash along Interstate 91 South.
At approximately 7:24 a.m., near mile marker 84.6, the driver, identified only as a juvenile due to their age, lost control of their 1999 Dodge truck.
According to the St. Johnsbury Barracks troopers, the vehicle veered from its lane, struck a mile marker post, and then came to rest after colliding with a rocky area off the west side of the highway.
The truck was totaled in the incident, which took place under clear skies and on dry road conditions.
The young operator, who was wearing a seatbelt at the time, did not sustain any injuries and did not require hospitalization.
Further investigation revealed that the driver did not have proper insurance or registration for the vehicle.
As a result, Vermont Civil Violation Complaints were issued for violations under Title 23 VSA 800a and Title 23 VSA 301, bearing the numbers 7089446 and 7089447, respectively.
