NORTH SMITHFIELD — Rhode Island State Troopers conducted a series of arrests on Jan. 24 and 25 stemming from motor vehicle stops, resulting in charges for DUI, drug possession, and violations of no-contact orders, according to the Rhode Island State Police.
On the morning of Jan. 24 at 10:30 a.m., Troopers detained Melinda Valeriani, 50, of North Smithfield, on a warrant for a domestic violence-related no-contact order violation from the North Kingstown Police Department.
The arrest occurred on Route 146 in Lincoln, where Valeriani was processed and then turned over to the North Kingstown authorities.
Later that evening at 8:43 p.m., David Law, 39, of Cranston, was arrested in Pawtucket on multiple charges including driving under the influence of drugs, refusal to submit to a chemical test, and driving with a suspended license.
Law was held overnight at the Lincoln Woods Barracks to await arraignment as a bail violator.
Within minutes of each other on the same night, Troopers apprehended Claribel Fernandez, 52, of Providence, at 10:51 p.m., and Necole Nardolillo, 31, of West Warwick, at 10:32 p.m.
Fernandez was charged with driving with a suspended license and held for arraignment, while Nardolillo faced drug possession charges for Xanax and crack cocaine following a stop in Providence.
Nardolillo was released with a summons to appear in court.
At 10:40 p.m., on Jan. 24, Marcus Harris, 42, of Warwick, was arrested for a no-contact order violation after a stop in Providence.
Harris was processed and transferred to the Pawtucket Police Department.
On Jan. 25 at 3:20 a.m., Christiana Derosier, 45, of Providence, was charged with possession of ecstasy after being stopped on Route 146.
Derosier was processed and released with a notice to appear in court.
