BOSTON — Officers from the Boston Police Department’s Drug Control Units apprehended a man and confiscated a firearm and narcotics during an early morning raid on a Dorchester residence on Jan. 24.

At 7:08 a.m., members of the E-5 and D-4 Drug Control Units executed a search warrant at 190 Fairmount Street as part of an ongoing investigation into drug activities.

The search of the property’s basement led to the recovery of a loaded Springfield XD-9 handgun, approximately 33.8 grams of cocaine, various cutting agents, digital scales, and materials used for packaging drugs.

Authorities arrested 30-year-old Barkley Lamour, a resident of Dorchester, who was identified as the subject of the investigation.

Lamour faces multiple charges, including unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, and trafficking a Class B substance, specifically cocaine.

Lamour is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court, where he will respond to the charges filed against him.

The police department’s successful operation underscores ongoing efforts to combat illegal drug distribution and associated violent crimes in the Boston area.
