NASHUA — A New Hampshire State Police cruiser was struck from behind while a trooper was investigating a separate crash on the F.E. Everett Turnpike on Wednesday evening.

The collision occurred at 6:14 p.m. on Jan. 22 when Trooper Mark Lingerman, stationed at the Troop B barracks, was handling a crash scene in the northbound split lanes of Exit 4.

To secure the area, Lingerman positioned his cruiser to block the right lane, with the vehicle’s emergency lights on.

While Lingerman was inside his cruiser, an 86-year-old Nashua resident, Michael Crissis, driving a Nissan Altima, failed to adhere to the move-over law and collided with the cruiser’s rear.

Lingerman sustained suspected minor injuries and was taken to Southern New Hampshire Medical Center for evaluation.

Crissis did not report any injuries, and no other vehicles were involved in the incident.

Authorities are seeking additional information regarding the crash and have requested that anyone with details contact Sgt. Kyle Foster at (603) 223-4381 or via email at [email protected].
