PROVIDENCE — In a series of incidents, Rhode Island State Police made multiple arrests, including charges of assault, failure to appear, shoplifting, and obstructing an officer.
At 9 a.m., troopers arrested Paola Sandoval, 33, of Cranston, Rhode Island, on charges of simple assault and/or battery following a barracks investigation.
Sandoval was arraigned at Sixth District Court and then transferred to the Adult Correctional Institution – Women’s Intake Center.
Later in the evening, at 9:45 p.m., Jennifer Peckham, 48, of Attleboro, Massachusetts, was arrested for a Second District Court bench warrant for failure to appear for an arraignment on the original charge of operating on a foreign and/or suspended license, which originated from the Portsmouth Police Department.
Peckham’s arrest followed a motor vehicle stop on Route 146 in North Providence.
After being transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks and processed, she was arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and released with a notice to appear in Second Division District Court.
Shortly before, at 9:22 p.m., Timothy Hurley, 28, of South Easton, Massachusetts, was taken into custody on an affidavit and arrest warrant for shoplifting, a charge stemming from the Cranston Police Department.
Hurley’s arrest occurred after a motor vehicle stop on West River Street in Providence.
He was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks and handed over to Cranston Police Department.
The final arrest of the night at 11:47 p.m. involved Karina Zorrilla Rodriguez, 26, of Pawtucket, Rhode Island.
Rodriguez faced charges of obstructing an officer in the execution of duty and resisting legal and/or illegal arrest after a motor vehicle stop on North Main Street in Providence.
She was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace, and released with a notice to appear in Sixth Division District Court.
