BOSTON — Boston Police are investigating a homicide that occurred on Ridgewood Street in Dorchester after responding to a report of a shooting Tuesday evening.
At approximately 7:21 p.m., officers from District C-11 were dispatched to 73 Ridgewood Street, where they found 20-year-old Kareem Daveiga-Booth of Brighton with a gunshot wound.
Daveiga-Booth was quickly transported to a local hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival.
The Homicide Unit of the Boston Police Department is conducting a thorough investigation of the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Authorities are appealing to the public for any information that may assist in the case and are urging those with knowledge of the shooting to contact the Boston Police Homicide Unit at 617-343-4470.
