WORCESTER — A Worcester Police Department operation led to the arrest of a 22-year-old man on charges of drug distribution after officers observed a transaction on the morning of Jan. 23.
At around 11:10 a.m., members of the Neighborhood Response Team witnessed an exchange between two males near the intersection of King Street and Shepard Street.
Police intervened, detaining the individual who had purchased the narcotics.
The man was found in possession of two baggies of crack cocaine and admitted to acquiring the drugs, resulting in charges for possession of crack cocaine.
He is scheduled to appear in court.
Subsequently, police confronted Warren Collins on King Street.
Upon searching Collins, officers discovered four individually wrapped bags containing crack cocaine and several pills identified as Oxycodone, which require a prescription to possess legally.
Collins faces charges including Distribution of a Class B Substance and Possession to Distribute a Class B Drug.
