BROOKFIELD — Two men have been arrested following a disturbance that escalated into a shooting, according to Brookfield Police Department officials.
Early this morning, the Brookfield Police, with the aid of the Connecticut State Police’s Western District Major Crimes unit, apprehended Gerald Rutledge, 65, of Southbury, and Rithy Kay, 45, of Danbury.
The arrests stem from an incident that prompted an extensive investigation by local authorities.
Rutledge faces charges of first-degree assault and second-degree assault with a firearm and is being held on a $150,000 bond.
Kay has been charged with third-degree assault and has been released on a written promise to appear in court.
Both suspects are scheduled for arraignment at Danbury Superior Court today.
