LEWISTON — A Lewiston man was taken into custody on firearms charges after local police executed a search warrant at a Blake Street apartment on the afternoon of Jan. 22.
Alan Scott-Ryerson, 30, faces charges of Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person, a Class C offense, and Refusing to Submit to Arrest, a Class D crime.
The Lewiston Police Department, acting on an open firearms investigation, located and seized a firearm from Scott-Ryerson’s residence at 204 Blake St, Apt #2.
Due to prior felony convictions, Scott-Ryerson is legally barred from owning firearms.
He is currently being held at the Androscoggin County Jail with bail set at $800.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities anticipate filing additional charges.
The Lewiston Police Department is collaborating with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the District Attorney’s Office in this matter.
