GREENWICH — Greenwich Police apprehended a suspect linked to a stolen vehicle following a pursuit in the early hours of Jan. 22.

Officers responded to a report at approximately 4:30 a.m. of four individuals wearing hoods and peering into cars at Putnam Hill.

Upon arrival, a police unit spotted two vehicles exiting Milbank Avenue onto East Putnam Avenue, one tailing the other, before they separated and sped off in opposite directions.

The police followed one car onto I-95 Northbound, while the other vehicle, a Volvo, headed west on West Putnam Avenue and stopped at a Shell Gas Station.

The second officer made contact with the driver of the Volvo, who was uncooperative and refused to provide identification or answer questions.

Further investigation confirmed that the Volvo was stolen.

Police arrested the driver, identified as Jovanni Jesus Quinones of Bridgeport, CT.

Quinones, who is currently on probation for a 2021 Weapons in a Motor Vehicle Violation, now faces charges related to the stolen vehicle.

The police effort resulted in a successful apprehension without incident.
