Westminster man arrested in drug raid, explosive materials safely detonated

WESTMINSTER — In a collaborative effort, the Westminster Police Department, North Worcester County Drug Task Force, and Massachusetts State Police Gang Unit conducted a search warrant operation at a local residence, leading to the arrest of a man and the discovery of drugs and explosive materials.

Authorities executed the warrant on Tuesday at a home located at 115 East Road.

The search yielded around 24 grams of cocaine, 56 gabapentin pills, 49 suboxone strips, and $7,124 in cash.

Justin Wagner was taken into custody and faces charges for trafficking cocaine in the quantity of 18-36 grams, possession with intent to distribute class E substances (gabapentin), and possession with intent to distribute class B substances (suboxone).

During the operation, officers also found explosive materials on the premises.

Due to the hazardous nature of these materials, the Massachusetts State Police Bomb Squad was called to the scene.

The squad successfully rendered the materials safe, resulting in a loud controlled detonation heard by residents at around 8:30 p.m.
