BOSTON — Boston Police Department’s Human Trafficking Unit, in conjunction with officers from District D-14, arrested Xiaofeng Wang, 26, on Tuesday night for alleged involvement in a human trafficking operation in Brighton.
The arrest at 55 Brighton Avenue followed an investigation initiated earlier that day after authorities received tips about potential commercial sex activities.
Undercover detectives posing as sex buyers contacted a phone number from online ads and arranged a meeting for sexual services.
Wang, a resident of Oakland Gardens, New York, was detained as he escorted an undercover detective to the location.
Searches of two apartments at the same address uncovered evidence of prostitution and resulted in the seizure of approximately $7,021 in cash.
Wang faces charges of human trafficking and deriving support from prostitution.
His arraignment is scheduled at Brighton District Court.
