Woman involved in single-vehicle crash on US Route 302 in Ryegate

RYEGATE — A single-vehicle crash on US Route 302 left a Toyota RAV 4 totaled and its operator with possible minor injuries on Jan. 20.

Eliza Channell, 35, of Ryegate, was driving east on Route 302 around 1:13 p.m. when she reportedly lost control of her vehicle.

The vehicle veered off the road and collided with a guardrail, according to Vermont State Police.

Channell, who was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident, was transported to Cottage Hospital for assessment of injuries.

The road conditions were wet, although the weather was clear.

The Ryegate Fire Department and Woodsville EMS assisted at the scene, and JTB Towing was called to remove the damaged vehicle.

The cause of the crash is under investigation by the Vermont State Police.
