BOSTON — Two teenage boys were arrested on gun and motor vehicle charges after a traffic stop in Dorchester on Monday afternoon, the Boston Police Department said.

Officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) pulled over a vehicle on Blue Hill Avenue around 4:19 p.m. after it was spotted speeding.

During the stop, near 1117 Blue Hill Avenue, police found that the driver, a 15-year-old boy, did not have a valid driver’s license.

As officers investigated, they noted another 15-year-old passenger displaying signs of nervousness.

A search revealed the passenger was carrying a Glock 43 with an extended magazine, which was loaded with eight 9mm rounds, but without a round in the chamber.

The driver was charged with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

The armed passenger faces charges including unlawful possession of a firearm, carrying a loaded firearm without a license, unlawful possession of ammunition, and possession of a large capacity firearm.
