Two stabbed in late-night Seymour incident, one dead

SEYMOUR — On Jan. 19, at approximately 11:42 p.m., Seymour police responded to a 911 call reporting a stabbing at 22 Ajellos Farm Road, where officers identified and detained the suspect, Christopher Eugene Stanley Jr., after arriving at the scene.

The attack resulted in two victims being injured, with Rhahzhem Turner, originally from Port Chester, N.Y., succumbing to his injuries at Bridgeport Hospital.

A second victim, a female whose identity has not been disclosed, received treatment for non-life-threatening injuries at Griffin Hospital.

Stanley, 33, whose last known address is Mount Vernon, N.Y., has been charged with murder and first-degree assault.

He is being held on a $1.5 million bond and is expected to appear in court on Jan. 21.

While the investigation by Seymour Police Department officers and detectives continues, authorities have advised that there is no further danger to the public.

The department is urging anyone with information about the case to contact the Detective Bureau.

Chief John Bucherati has underscored the department’s commitment to transparency and community safety in the wake of the incident.
