North Providence man arrested on fraud, larceny charges

PROVIDENCE — A North Providence man was arrested Sunday afternoon on charges including fraudulent checks and larceny, following a traffic stop on Route 95.

John Lawson, 27, of 44 Morgan Ave., was taken into custody at 3:13 p.m. by Rhode Island State Troopers from the Hope Valley Barracks.

The arrest was the culmination of an investigation by Trooper Andrews into alleged criminal activities involving fraudulent checks under $1,500, larceny over $10,000, and conspiracy.

Lawson was stopped on Route 95 in the Town of Richmond.

After the arrest, he was transported to the Hope Valley Barracks where he was processed.

A Justice of the Peace arraigned Lawson as a bail violator, after which he was transported to the Adult Correctional Institution – Men’s Intake.
