CANAAN — A two-vehicle crash occurred late Friday night when a local man fell asleep while driving and collided with a parked vehicle, according to Vermont State Police.
Zachary Brown, 23, was traveling west on VT Route 114 near Park St. when he reportedly lost control of his 2018 Ford Escape due to fatigue.
The incident took place at 12:16 a.m. under clear weather conditions and on fine roadways.
Brown’s vehicle sustained front right damage after crossing the center line and impacting a parked 2013 Polaris Ranger, which suffered damage to its front right bumper.
The parked vehicle was unoccupied at the time of the collision.
Authorities report that Brown, a resident of Canaan, was wearing his seatbelt and did not sustain any injuries in the crash.
Following the investigation, Brown was issued a Vermont Civil Violation Complaint for failure to maintain the lane of travel, a violation of Title 23 VSA 1038.
