Brattleboro woman arrested on warrant, found with heroin

PUTNEY — A routine traffic stop led to the arrest of a Brattleboro woman on an active warrant and heroin possession charges on Jan. 19.

Vermont State Police troopers stopped Courtney Stone, 36, on U.S. Route 5 for a motor vehicle violation at 2:53 p.m. An investigation during the stop revealed Stone had an outstanding arrest warrant.

Further search found that she was in possession of heroin.

Stone was arrested without incident and taken to Southern State Correctional Facility.

She was held on $200 bail as mandated by the courts and issued a flash citation for the next business day at 12:30 p.m. in relation to the warrant.

The warrant listed multiple charges against Stone, including possession of cocaine and depressants, violation of conditions of release, aggravated disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, and assault on a protected professional.

Stone is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 25 at 8:30 a.m. for the heroin possession charges.
