Suspect in Plymouth financial fraud case extradited from Miami

PLYMOUTH — A suspect wanted for defrauding a Plymouth resident has been extradited from Miami, Florida, and will face multiple charges, including larceny and identity fraud, Plymouth Police Department officials said Friday.

Omari Thompson, a North Miami Beach resident, was brought back to Massachusetts by members of the Plymouth Police Detective Division.

Thompson allegedly posed as a bank representative and convinced a Plymouth victim to transfer a significant amount of money under false pretenses.

Detective Pierce of the Plymouth Police Department identified Thompson as the suspect after executing several search warrants during the investigation.

Thompson was processed at the Plymouth Police Department on charges of larceny over $1,200 by false pretense, identity fraud, and larceny over $250 from a person over 60 or disabled.

He is scheduled for arraignment at Plymouth District Court today, Jan. 17.
