WEBSTER — A disturbance at a local restaurant led to the apprehension of an intoxicated man armed with a firearm on Saturday night, police said.
Webster Police Officers responded to Empire Wok on Worcester Road at about 9:54 p.m. after receiving reports of a highly intoxicated man inappropriately touching patrons and reaching for a weapon.
Upon arrival, officers found the suspect, Ryan Kennedy, 31, of Dudley, being restrained by other patrons on the floor.
Officers Aaron Suss, Kaitlyn DiBuono, Nicholas Caruso, and David Brooks assisted in securing Kennedy, removing the firearm from his waistband without further incident.
According to authorities, Kennedy had punched another diner and subsequently vomited under a table, causing alarm and disrupting the restaurant’s patrons.
Webster EMS transported Kennedy to a hospital for evaluation due to his level of intoxication.
His firearm was seized, and he now faces charges of Disorderly Conduct and Carrying a Firearm While Intoxicated.
