HOLLIS — A maintenance man who worked for a deceased couple in Hollis has been arrested and charged with stealing jewelry from their home, police reported Thursday.

The Hollis Police Department received a report of theft on Jan. 4, from the executor of an estate on North Pepperell Road.

The missing items included several pieces of jewelry that belonged to the late homeowners.

Detective Josh Hooper, leading the investigation, identified the suspect as Thomas Goode, a 60-year-old maintenance man who had been employed by the couple since 2019.

A break in the case came when one of the stolen items, a piece of jewelry, was found at a Boston pawn shop.

The item had been pawned by Goode, according to the police report.

Early this morning, with support from the Nashua Police Department, Goode was apprehended at his Nashua residence on Autumn Leaf Drive.

Following his arrest, a search warrant was executed at his apartment, leading to the recovery of two stolen watches linked to the Hollis theft.

Goode faces three counts of Theft by Unauthorized Taking, all classified as felonies.

He was released on personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to be arraigned at the 9th Circuit Court Nashua District Division on Feb. 18.
