AUBURN — An Auburn Police Department investigation led to the arrest of a Worcester man Tuesday after he allegedly exposed himself to three juveniles at a Macy’s department store.

At about 4:15 p.m. on Jan. 14, officers responded to a report of indecent exposure at the Macy’s located at 385 Southbridge St. The suspect, identified as Hector Diaz, 62, was accused of intentionally revealing himself to the minors in the restroom.

According to authorities, the juveniles immediately informed a store employee of the incident, prompting a swift response from Auburn police officers and detectives.

The team was able to locate and apprehend Diaz at the scene.

Diaz was charged with open and gross lewdness and lascivious behavior.

He was held overnight at the Auburn Police Station on a $5,000 bail.

During his arraignment at Worcester District Court on Jan. 15, Diaz was released on personal recognizance with a court order to stay away from the victims and no contact order in place.

Detectives issued a verbal no trespassing order to Diaz, and Macy’s is expected to follow with a formal notice.
