WATERBURY — A local man faces multiple charges after allegedly fleeing the scene of a crash and providing false information to police.
Stephen Anderson, 35, of Waterbury, was cited Monday for leaving the scene of an accident, driving with a suspended license and providing false information to a police officer, according to Vermont State Police.
Troopers from the Berlin barracks responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash at 3 Hill St. in Waterbury at approximately 6:52 a.m. Monday.
The crash resulted in property damage, police said.
Investigators determined Anderson was the driver and had fled the scene without notifying the property owner.
During questioning, Anderson allegedly provided troopers with false and misleading information.
Police also discovered Anderson was operating a vehicle with a criminally suspended license at the time of the incident.
Anderson was released with a citation to appear in Washington County Superior Court at a later date to answer to the charges.
